Girls Inc. Alumna & Summer Camp Staff

Rachel is a senior at Franklin Community High School, where she shines as a performer in the Bella Voce and Sensations choirs. Rachel’s journey with Girls Inc. of Johnson County began in the 2nd grade, and since then, the organization has played a pivotal role in her development, teaching her to challenge and overcome gender stereotypes. As she prepares for her future, Rachel plans to pursue a degree in criminal justice, driven by a strong sense of justice and a desire to make a difference in her community. Her experiences with Girls Inc. have reinforced her belief in empowering young girls to pursue their passions, regardless of societal expectations.

In her current role at Girls Inc. of Johnson County as a Junior Staff member, Rachel finds immense joy in mentoring the younger girls. She is a firm believer in the Girls Inc. “Bill of Rights,” which advocates for the empowerment of girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Rachel is dedicated to fostering a supportive and encouraging environment where girls can grow and thrive. One of Rachel’s favorite responsibilities is teaching the messy science class. She delights in sparking curiosity and excitement in the girls, showing them that it’s okay to explore careers in fields that are not traditionally seen as female-dominated. Through her teaching, Rachel aims to inspire a new generation of girls to break barriers and pursue their dreams with confidence and determination.
